Laura R at Hundred and Counting made my day yesterday. She nominated me for a Liebster Award, which basically means she thinks people should read me. As my friend Claire would say: I’m chuffed!

When one receives this award, one must answer questions devised by the nominating person. Laura wanted to know:

What made you start blogging?

I needed to make a portfolio of my writing for potential employers and  found a blog naturally growing out of it.

Are you an indoor or an outdoor person at heart?

Where I am hardly matters, since I mostly live in my head.

If you could make one wish to change the world, what would it be?

I wish everyone would treat others as they would want the person they love most in the world to be treated.

What’s your pet peeve?

Oh, I have quite a few… this time around, I will say arrogant people who abuse others simply because they are in a position to get away with it.

What would you recommend that I read next?

Anything that will take you one step closer to where you want to be.

If you were the DJ, which record would you play?

Anything by Van Morrisson, but likely, this one:

or The Band.

What did you dream of when you were ten years old?

I wanted to be a singer who wrote and illustrated children’s books.

Have you experienced love at first sight? Doesn’t have to be with a person.

If I ever have, I now thankfully have forgotten. (I’m a fan of conscious, active loving.)

What is your favorite musical instrument? (you don’t have to know how to play it)

Flute, these days, but piano comes in a close second.

Who is the most inspiring person you know? Why?

I wish I could answer that but people who inspire me vary from one day to the next. Yesterday, Illian Rain provided deep and effective inspiration.

What do you consider your personal super food?

Chocolate. No… coconut… um… no… kale… super, you say? … Chocolate-coconut kale chips.

And now, allow me to continue the tradition, but slightly more modestly. My nominations for the Liebster Blog Award go to:

Illian Rain at Illian Rain for her raw, inspired and inspiring writing.

Bun at Bun Kariyudo because I only laugh this heartily when reading him.

Megan at Invisible World because I smile all the time and sometimes guffaw when reading her.

Prince at Super Inspired Moments for being a prince and for his heartening posts.

Cheyanne at Tangerine Wallpaper for the best practical tips and sober advice (…must look into Overdrive and never, ever try pumpkin floats…)

Tia at Letters from the inside for casting a spell that keeps you joyfully reading.

Lex at Le poisson nage because she is on an adventure and sweet and funny and irrésistible, ma chère!

Purnima, Uttam-Adhikari, Gautami, Ananata-Rupa, Prijamawada, Krishnapradaya, Madhawi Karaya (*loud inbreath*) at Mr. Tookles because she celebrates being a woman, eats donuts but blames Mr. Tookles, starts a pay it forward movement and has a reeeeaaaaaaaaalllllllllllyyyyyyyy cool name.

Here are my questions for the nominees:

  1. What is your earliest memory?
  2. What makes you giggle?
  3. What is the most important thing you can do for yourself?
  4. What is the most important thing you can do for the world?

You can find out more about the Liebster Award and awards in general from Michelle right here. This being a free blogosphere, nominees may choose to abstain from the process, continue it as traditionally set up or modify it as they see fit. Cheers!
